SCHNEIDER produces structural panels with a rear-side lead foil lamination for radiation protection and sound insulation. These laminated structural panels are easy to handle and offer an economic method of separating rooms in drywall construction. Gypsum, gypsum fibre boards and chipboards are suitable as support materials.
SCHNEIDER delivers gypsum panels with a lead foil lamination of up to 3 mm. If higher lead thicknesses are required, the construction can be produced with a double layer of planking. The thickness of the lead depends on the required lead equivalent. The requirements laid down in the Radiation Protection Ordinance and the radiation protection plan must be taken into account.
Innovative radiation protection boards facilitate the installation of radiation-protected rooms. VarioShieldPlus has a front edge with an excess end of lead and a flattened edge. Due to the overlapping installation of the boards the horizontal joints are already radiation-protected. It's no longer necessary to install lead strips beneath the boards. One additional advantage: Basically there is hardly any cutting scrap anymore, since the remaining boards can be cutted flexibly. The craftsman determines the remaining length of the board and cuts it fittingly on the side with the flattened edge. The remaining board will be used for the next stator frame, beginning at the bottom.
As a supplementary product, SCHNEIDER produces self-adhesive lead strips in order to cover joints. Schneider Protect-SK is available in the standard series in material thicknesses of 0,50 to 3,00 mm and in a width of 50 mm.
